After sharing with you a list of my favorite shows ever, I bring you a list of recommendations of Netflix series I really liked!
Recomendaram-me esta sére por estar “ressacada” de Casa de Papel, e A-DO-REI. Num género de Orange is the new black melhorado, relata a vida de Macarena, uma rapariga ingénua acusada de um crime devido ao chefe por quem se apaixonou, e a sua vida na prisão. Uma série que nos faz suster a respiração do início ao fim, com um elenco fantástico!
This show was recommended due to “missing” Money Heist, and I absolutely LOVED it! Similar to Orange is the new black, but better, it tells the story of Macarena, a naive girl accused of a crime done due to the boss she fell in love with, and her life in jail. A show that makes you hold your breath from the beginning to the end, and an amazing cast!
Protagonizada por Viola Davias, cuja prestação está como sempre fabulosa, esta série é uma das séries mais bem conseguidas, envolventes e fucked-up que eu já vi. É daquelas que é preciso estar 100% atento e não se pode perder um detalhe, pois estão sempre coisas a acontecer e há sempreum plot twists ao virar da esquina. Annalise Keating, uma professora “lendária” de direito criminal e os seus alunos pródigo veêm-se envolvidos na resolução de um assassinato com circunstâncias misteriosas. Uma série genial.
Featuring Viola Davis, which interpretation is, as always, fabulous, this is one of the most evolving, fucked-up and well-done shows I have ever seen. You have to be 100% focused on the show, and cannot miss one detail, because there are always things happening and there is always a plot twist around! Annalise Keating, a “legendary” criminal law professor along with her mentee students get themselves evolved on solving a murder, with mysterious circumstances. A genius show.
Friends from college segue a vida de grupo de amigos de longa data, desde tempos de faculdade, com pequenas fricções e dramas, e muita peripécia à mistura. É uma série óptima, que infelizmente só tem duas temporadas, mas acho que vale a pena verem!
Friends from college follows the life of a long-term group of friends, since college, with little frictions and dramas, and a lot of incidents on the way. It is a great show, that unfortunately only has two seasons, but I think you should give it a chance!
Baseado num caso real, esta minisérie conta a história de uma rapariga que foi violada, fez queixa e depois retirou-a. Segue também a investigação do caso, que poderá não ser o único. Uma chamada de atenção muito real para este problema sério. É, literalmente, inacreditável.
Based on a true case, this miniseries tells the story of a girl who was raped, did a complaint and then dropped it. It also follows the investigation of that case, which may not be the only one. A very real wake-up call to this very serious problem. It is, literally, unbelievable.
Confesso que não sou a maior fã de séries de romance, muito menos de época, mas esta série conquistou-me! Segue a história de Claire, uma enfermeira de guerra, que está na Escócia em 1946 e viaja no tempo para 1743. A história é cativante, as personagens fascinantes e as paisagens lindíssimas.
I must confess that I’m not the biggest fan of romance series, let alone historical romance, but this show got me! It follows Claire, a war nurse that is in Scotland in 1946 and travels in time to 1743. The story is very captivating, the characters fascinating and the landscapes are beautiful.
Esta série esteve na minha lista para ver muito tempo. Retrata a vida da família real, nomeadamente o reinado da Rainha Elisabeth II), e eu adorei. O elenco é excelente, os factos históricos estão on point (um pouco dramatizados, claro), mas a evolução da Rainha para a personalidade que todos “conhecemos” … é simplesmente incrível. Aconselho muito (e espero que a próxima temporada não demore!)
This show was on my list for a long time. It’s about the Royal Family, specifically the reign of Queen Elisabeth I, and I just loved it. The cast is great, the historical factors are on point (a bit dramatized, of course), mas the evolution of the Queen for the strong character that we all “know” today… it was just incredible. I really advise you to watch it (and I hope the next season doesn’t take long!)
Baseada num livro infantil (Anne from Green Gabbles), esta série leva-nos Canadá algures no século XVIII, e descreve-nos a história da maravilhosa Anne, uma rapariga orfã muito especial que foi adoptada por dois irmãos de uma vila.
Para além de ser uma série extremamente bem feita, com uma imagem genial, diálogos muito bem concebidos e personagens encantadoras, aborda temas muito relevantes como o feminismo e a tolerância. Confesso que estava um pouco receosa de não gostar, por ser tão parada, mas conquistou o meu coração de forma que poucas séries o fizeram e recomendo a toda a gente.
Based on a children’s book (Anne from Green Gabbles), this show takes us to Canada, somewhere in XVIII century, and it tells us the story of the wonderful Anne, a very special orphan girl that was adopted by a brother and sister from a small village.
Besides being extremely well-done, with great quality pictures, amazing dialogues and charming characters, it approaches very important matters like feminism and tolerance. I must confess I was a bit afraid not to like it, because it doesn’t have much action, it grew on me and it won my heart like very little series did. I recommend it to everyone.
Se querem abstrair-se dos vossos problemas com um pouquinho de drama, esta é a série! Três alunos de famílias de classe baixa entram com uma bolsa para um colégio privado, cheio de miúdos que são o típico estereótipo rico priviligiado e há um assassinato há mistura, com muito por revelar! Apesar de ser uma série com um liceu, tem muita qualidade, a história é absolutamente viciante e os actores são muito bons.
If you want to forget about your problems with a bit of drama, this is it! Three students from low class get a scholarship for a private school, filled with teenagers that are the typical stereotype of rich and privileged, and there was a murder with a lot to reveal! Even though the show is about high school kids in general, it is indeed a good show, absolutely addictive and with a very good cast.
Mais uma série boa que não tem o hype que merece. Quando três mães com necessidades financeiras decidem assaltar um supermercado para resolver os seus problemas, e de repente vêem-se envolvidas numa espiral devido a esse crime. Deixou-me sem dúvida, agarrada à TV, episódio após episódio.
Another good show that didn’t have the hype it deserved. When three mothers with financial needs decide to rob a supermarket in order to solve their issues, and then they see themselves evolved on a snowball due to that crime. It left me addicted to it, episode by episode.
Uma série britância que me pareceu uma comédia romântica adolescente, mas que rapidamente evoluiu para uma história intensa de um miúdo que acha que é psicopata e quer matar uma miúda muito mal-humurada. Não dá para parar de ver.
A British show that seemed like the typical teenage rom-com, but quickly evolved to an intense story of a boy who thinks he is a psycho and wants to murder the grumpiest girl ever. You can’t stop watching it.
Esta é uma recriação da popular série dos anos 80 e é um dos maiores clichés que já vi. Plots dignos de novelas mexicanas… mas gosto tanto! Segue uma poderosa família milionária e todo o drama à volta de dinheiro, negócios e família, com muita diversão à mistura.
This is a remake of the popular series from the 80’s and it is one of the biggest cliches I have ever seen. Plots worthy of a Mexican soap opera… but I really like it! It is about a very powerful millionaire family and all the drama around money, business and family, with a lot of fun.
Tal como as outras, é também uma série espanhola que me conquistou. Passada nos anos 20, conta-nos as aventuras de quatro raparigas que trabalham na primeira companhia telefónica espanhola. Tem uma história muito cativante, bom desenvolvimento das personagens e aborda também temas relevantes como o feminismo, com atrizes incríveis.
Just like all other Spanish shows I have seen, this is another that conquered me. It’s set in the 20’s, and it tells us the adventures of four girls that work on the first phone company in Spain. It has a very captivating story, good character development and it also approaches relevant issues, like feminism, with an amazing cast.
